My husband and I camp here every year at Franklin Lake. We absolutely love it. This place is in the middle of the forest with campsites that have picnic tables and fire rings. You can camp in a tent or camper. We tent it. This year some of the lake sites became reservable. Others are first come first serve. We see plenty of wildlife as we hike on the trails. You can fish, swim, hike or just relax.
We've been there for camping trips before and really enjoyed our time.
Lived here for almost 20 years and in the NICOLET NATIONAL FOREST THERE'S ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO IF YOU CAN'T FIND SOMETHING TO DO YOU HAVE NO IMAGINATION. YOU NEED ASK GOOGLE OR SIRI WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR CHILDHOOD HAS BEEN WASTED ON COMPUTERS AT WHICH TIME YOU SHOULD GO RENT A FOUR-WHEELER AND DON'T STOP DRIVING UNTIL IT BLOWS UP.
Great forest....but beware the cougars and wolves as the deer population is thinning. I advise carrying a side arm for hikes.
Best forest in Wisconsin to visit lots of a back roads and trails to explore. Waterfalls, campsites, rivers, and wildlife.
